Farrah Motley

I am the Director of Prosper Law. I founded our online law firm in 2021. I wanted to create a better way of doing legal work and a better experience for customers of legal services.

You can find me on the Queensland Law Society register of solicitors.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Accounting. I was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2014. I have worked for big law firms and spent most of my legal career working as an inhouse legal counsel. This is what has given me the commercial edge.

My main areas of legal practice include:

My clients have included the big end of town (stock exchange-listed companies) as well as individual clients looking for affordable legal help.

Farrah's case Studies

  • Negotiating and settling unfair dismissal claims
Farrah has acted on behalf of both workers and employers. From executive employment dismissals, applications for unfair dismissal and responding to dismissal claims on behalf of employers, Farrah has extensive experience in this area.
  • Legal read for a book manuscript
Book manuscripts can be high risk for authors and publishers. Farrah has provided legal reads, identified potential legal issues and given legal advice as to how to overcome the risk. For example, risks of defamation in non-fiction books, copyright infringement and trade mark infringement.
  • Website terms and conditions
Farrah has worked with small eCommerce websites to international businesses in developing their website terms and conditions. Farrah also provides legal advice on how best to structure the customer journey so as to reduce legal risks.
  • Business-to-business non compete dispute
Non-compete clauses can give way to expensive legal disputes. In a legal matter involving a former employee who had started a new business in competition with their employer, Farrah negotiated a settlement that meant our client was able to continue with their business for the cost of our fixed fee legal services.
